Study Five: When Friends becomes enemies!
1. What does it feel like when an ex-friend talks about you behind your back?

Luke 22:3-6 "Then Satan entered the heart of Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve apostles.
Judas went to talk with the chief priests and the officers of the temple police about how he could help them arrest Jesus. They were very pleased and offered to pay Judas some money. 6He agreed and started looking for a good chance to betray Jesus when the crowds were not around.

Luke 22:47-51 "While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. It was led by Judas, one of the twelve apostles. He went over to Jesus and greeted him with a kiss.
Jesus asked Judas, "Are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
When Jesus' disciples saw what was about to happen, they asked, "Lord, should we attack them with a sword?" One of the disciples even struck at the high priest's servant with his sword and cut off the servant's right ear.
"Enough of that!" Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it."

2. Why did Judas betray Jesus?

3. How would you have felt if you were Jesus, when Judas betrayed Him?
________________________________________________________________________________

4. What was the reaction of Jesus to Judas when he was arrested?
________________________________________________________________________________

Acts 1:18-19  "Then Judas bought some land with the money he was given for doing that evil thing. He fell headfirst into the field. His body burst open, and all his insides came out. When the people of Jerusalem found out about this, they called the place Akeldama, which in the local language means "Field of Blood."

5. What was the reaction of Judas to the death of Jesus? _______________________________

6. Read the following sayings from Jesus on forgiveness and write what you should do?
________________________________________________________________________________

Luke 6:27-35 "This is what I say to all who will listen to me: Love your enemies, and be good to everyone who hates you. Ask God to bless anyone who curses you, and pray for everyone who is cruel to you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, don't stop that person from slapping you on the other cheek. If someone wants to take your coat, don't try to keep back your shirt. Give to everyone who asks and don't ask people to return what they have taken from you. Treat others just as you want to be treated.

If you love only someone who loves you, will God praise you for that? Even sinners love people who love them. If you are kind only to someone who is kind to you, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners are kind to people who are kind to them. If you lend money only to someone you think will pay you back, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners lend to sinners because they think they will get it all back.

But love your enemies and be good to them. Lend without expecting to be paid back. Then you will get a great reward, and you will be the true children of God in heaven. He is good even to people who are unthankful and cruel."
