STAGE ONE-
OBSERVER.
Watch the
group for
the following-
Discipline
methods, how
games are run, analyse talks and small groups, introduce yourself to
different
members in the group. Work out how you would do things etc.
TRAINING-
Go to a
philosophy of
youth Ministry training night
Games Training
night
Read and work
through
the handout on Supper
Read and work
through
the handout on welcoming and supper.
Read ideas on
small groups
and sit in on a small group
Read the role
of disciple
in youth groups.
Prepare supper,
collect
money at the door with an experienced leader.
STAGE TWO -
TRAINEE HELPER
Help organise
a task
which doesn't involve controlling the whole group at once. eg. prepare
supper, collect the money at the door, talk with the members, assist in
a small group, help discipline during the program.
TRAINING-
Collect money
without
anyone to help
Plan a supper
Meet with an
experienced
leader and work through the giving a testimony document, practice
testimony
on a friend.
Plan a game and
run it
in conjunction with another leader
Lead a small
group under
supervision.
Learn a gospel
presentation.
STAGE THREE
- HELPER
Give your
testimony, take
a small group, run a game, plan an outing, participate more in
discipline.
Go to giving a
talk training
night.
TRAINING-
Read through
the philosophy
of Games document.
Read through
how to plan
an outing.
STAGE FOUR -
ASSISTANT
LEADER
Give a talk, run
the games,
plan and run an outing.
TRAINING-
Spend time with
the Youth
Minister going through planning, youth ministry philosophy and self
evaluation
STAGE FIVE
- LEADER
Organise and run a
whole
program for a night.
TRAINING-
Do a Youth
leadership
Training course
STAGE SIX
- ASSISTANT
CO-ORDINATOR
Assistant with the
week
to week operation of the program and are able to step into being the
Co-ordinator
when needed.
TRAINING-
Take other
leaders through
stage of development
STAGE SEVEN
- CO-ORDINATOR
Runs the
whole program
and seeks to provide opportunities for the other leaders to take more
responsibility.
TRAINING-
Read set books
on Youth
Ministry
STAGE EIGHT
- OVERSEER
OF A SECTION OF MINISTRY
Looks after
a section
of Ministry with many groups eg. Junior high.
TRAINING-
Read set books
on youth
ministry
Evaluate
another youth
program and write your model of Youth Ministry
STAGE NINE -
OVERSEER
OF THE WHOLE YOUTH PROGRAM.
Co-ordinate
the Youth
Program.
