CAMPING
(1999 -
When
Jenni and I married back in 1980 we bought 6 acres at Bell in the Blue
Mountains with the aim of building a camp centre. This never came off
due
to distance. The dream sat, till one Sunday in April 1999 while I was
on
a camp at Katoomba I saw that the old YHA at Katoomba was for sale. By
Wednesday with no money we had agreed to buy it.
This
was followed by selling our home and using that money to buy Waratah
Lodge
at Katoomba.
The
YHA became Trinity
Cottage, Katoomba that we still run. In 2000 Waratah
Lodge
opened and was used mightily to April 2004 when it was converted back
to
being our home due to changes in Blue Mountains Council policy. In 2007
we have reopened it but will limited bookings.
My
first camp at Teen Ranch
Cobbitty
was in 1987 I have been committed to its ministry and vision. It is
a great privilege to be a director of Teen
Ranch Cobbitty and my desire is to see it continue to maintain
its gospel heart.

MINISTRYBLUE (1984-)
Ministryblue
is just a vague name for what Christian Youth Resources, Australia
started.
(1984 start approx. to now). Ministryblue aims at making all major
expenses
for ministries free or cheaper. I never thought that it would ever get
to $1 million yet from 2000 it has managed to turnover $100 million
plus
in resources. I have actually stopped chasing up groups on the network
to work out how much it does now turnover. |

Zec
overtakes Granddad at 6 months for who has the longest hair.
I love
doing it
even though it
sounds more like monopoly money that reality.
I
also love to hear stories from people of ways we have helped them.
Ministryblue
exists because lots of people have been generous, it no longer relies
on
my marketing skill or ability to negotiate but on the heart felt
generosity
of thousands of different people who email free goods, to businesses
giving
amazing discounts. Ministryblue exists because God is in the business
of
changing people (even their wallets) not because of me.
