What
do I need to do
before I consider
a ministry?
1.
It is expected that before anyone can lead in any ministry that they
will
have done or will do the training necessary for that ministry.
2. That
before someone commits themselves to a ministry that they have read its
job description and the Philosophy Of Ministry" document and are
willing to fulfill its requirements or choose a different
ministry.

The
standard expected for
ministry.
1. A
believing and practicing
Christian. (Rom.10:9, 2 Tim.1:13-14)
2. Good
Bible knowledge
and regular personal quiet times. (Titus 2:1)
3.
Seeking personal
holiness in your life. (Some specific areas that this includes are not
dating non Christians, not drinking alcohol to excess, not using impure
language, seeking God's will in your life. (2 Timothy 1:9, 2:22,
2:15)
4.
Committed to the
ministry and philosophy of the Church.
5.
Committed to coming
weekly to worship at Church. ( Hebrews 10:24-25)
6. Will
be a committed
and regular member of a small group ministry and accountable to that
group.
(2 Timothy 2:4)
7.
Willing to be equipped
through training. (Ephesians 4:11ff.)
8. A
desire to serve
Christ through ministry and a passion to see God's Kingdom grow.
(1 Peter 5:3)
9. Willing to
obey your
co-ordinator and leaders who are above you, especially the Church
staff.
(Heb. 13:17, Titus 3:1)10. When taking on a ministry it will be for a
year
(renewable) and you will need to give 6 to 8 weeks notice if you want to
pull out to
your key leader
and to the Minister.
11. Whilst
being a leader
you will not date any of the members of that group that you are working
with. (1 Corinthians 6:12)
12. Regular,
trustworthy
and reliable. (Titus 2:6)
13. That
people will not
take on a ministry that they cannot be fully committed to doing.
14. Preferably
one ministry
per person. If a person wants to do more then take on a larger ministry
or put more time into your current ministry. If a second ministry is
desired
it may be in the area of service e.g.. music, drama etc.
15. That
leaders are
to minister to the same gender wherever possible. Bible study leaders
need
to lead groups of the same sex or have an opposite sex co-leader.

16. That you
have ministry
gifts in that area of ministry. (1 Cor.12, Rom.12, Eph.4)
