CHRISTIAN
REVIVAL CENTRES
The
Godhead –
Father,
Son & Holy Spirit, co-equal and co-eternal in every respect. The
creator
and sustainer of all things visible and invisible.
The
Word of God –
inspired, infallible and the sole authority in all matters of Christian
faith and practice.
Man –
created by God
in his own image, now fallen, separated from God and incapable of
returning
to God by his own efforts.
The
Devil –
a fallen
angel who influenced man’s downfall and now attempts to destroy
mankind.
Christ's victory over him provides every believer access to Christ’s
absolute
authority over the devil and his evil spirits who are consigned to
eternal
punishment.
Salvation
–
received
solely by the grace of God through genuine repentance and wholehearted
trust in Jesus. Forgiveness of sin, liberation from bondage to the
world
and freedom in His Spirit, produce in the believer an upright life.
The
Church –
comprised
of all believers in Christ and gathered in local congregations which
assemble
for worship and the proclamation of the Gospel. Each autonomous local
church,
led by ministry gifts, governed by elders and served by deacons is an
operational
base for influencing the world through evangelism and community care.
The
Ordinances
– believers
baptism and the Lord's table were established by Christ for all
believers
to practice. They express our identification with the death, burial and
resurrection of Christ.
The
Baptism in
the Holy
Spirit – distinct from new birth and accompanied by speaking in
tongues
as the initial evidence of the receiving of this gift by faith. It
empowers
the believer for effective witness and gives access to the nine gifts
of
the Spirit.
The
Gifts of the
Holy
Spirit – are supernatural gifts for the edification and equipping
of
the church for ministry. They are given by the Holy Spirit and
exercised
by the believer through faith.
The
Fruit of the
Holy
Spirit – such as love, joy, peace, patience, goodness,
faithfulness,
meekness and self-control characterise the life of the believer and the
ministry of the church.
Divine
Healing –
affirmed
throughout the Bible, divine healing and divine deliverance are
available
to all through faith in the redemptive death and victorious
resurrection
of Christ.
Prayer
– is
the right
and privilege of every believer by which they can commune with God,
offer
supplication and thanksgiving, pray with authority and so release the
transforming
power of God. In prayer we can receive comfort, guidance, reassurance
and
edification.
The
Resurrections –
bodily for both the just, into eternal life and immortality, and the
unjust
into judgment. Eternal punishment is for all who reject the love of God
manifest in the sacrificial death of his Son on the Cross for the
salvation
of all.
Prophecy
–
Bible prophecy
is being progressively fulfilled through the course of history
culminating
in the visible, personal and glorious return of Christ. This will be
associated
with the fulfillment of other events foretold in the Scriptures and
conclude
with the saints enjoying eternity with God.
Christian
Revival
Centres
have had a number of splinter groups break off from them who also share
similar statements of belief. Like all groups their are those who are
for
and against a statement of belief an interesting negative site is rc.cultweb.net
I have included this site for your interest.
Other
groups
include Revival
Centres International, International Revival Fellowship, Geelong
Revival
Centres, Christian Assemblies International and some independent
churches.
